Privacy policy.
Your day, your family, your photographs. This is how we look after the personal information you share with us, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Last updated October 2026
Khaya Perfect Studios (“we”, “us”) only collects the personal information we genuinely need, uses it for the purpose you gave it to us, and never sells it.
1. Who we are
Khaya Perfect Studios is a photography studio at 13 Nourse-oord Close, Strubenvale, Springs. For the purposes of POPIA we are the responsible party for personal information collected through this website and when you book or work with the studio. Our Information Officer is the owner of Khaya Perfect Studios, who can be reached on 078 191 4251 or at kages.mp@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- When you enquire: the enquiry form and buttons on this website open WhatsApp (or your phone's dialler or email app) with a message already written for you. Nothing is sent until you press send. What we receive is what you choose to include, normally your name, the type of shoot, a preferred date, a few details about your plans, and your WhatsApp number or email address.
- When you book a shoot: your name, contact details, the date, venue and details of the event, and anything else you tell us so that we can photograph it properly.
- Photographs: photographing people is our work. The photos we take of you, your family or your event are personal information. Photos of children are only taken and used with the consent of a parent or guardian. We only publish a photo on our website, in albums on display or on social media with the consent of the people in it, or of a parent or guardian where the person is a child. Tell us if you do not want a photo of you or your family used for marketing, and we will not use it.
This website has no accounts and no payment page, and it does not store the details you type into its enquiry form. We do not knowingly collect special personal information (such as health or religious information) beyond what you choose to tell us, for example the details of a traditional ceremony that we need to photograph it properly, and then we only use it for that purpose.
3. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, check availability and arrange your shoot.
- To photograph, edit, retouch, deliver and print the work you ordered, including albums.
- To keep basic records and meet our legal and tax obligations.
- To show our work, but only with consent as described above.
We rely on your consent, on the need to carry out the service you asked for, on our legal obligations and on our legitimate interest in running the studio responsibly. We will not send you marketing messages without your permission.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your information. We only share it where necessary to run the studio and this website: WhatsApp (Meta) carries the messages you send us, our email provider carries email, our website host (Vercel) delivers this site and may keep standard server logs for security and performance, and, if you order an album or print, the printer or album supplier we use receives the photographs needed to make it. These providers handle information on their own platforms under their own privacy terms, and some of them store information outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on reasonable safeguards so that your information receives a level of protection comparable to POPIA.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as the law requires. Original and edited photographs are kept for a reasonable period so that we can supply reprints and albums, and then securely deleted or de-identified. You can ask us to delete your details from our phone, chats and files at any time, unless we are required by law to keep them.
6. How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including passcode-protected devices, secure transmission (HTTPS) on this website and care with who can see client messages and photographs.
7. Cookies and this website
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies and has no analytics or third-party trackers. The typefaces are served from this website itself, so your browser does not contact Google to load them. Links to Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Google Maps open those services, which have their own privacy policies, only once you tap them.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and ask for a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed;
- object to us processing your information, or withdraw consent you have given (for example, to a photo being used);
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Photographs on this website. If you, or your child, appear in a photograph on this website and you would like it removed, message us on WhatsApp or email kages.mp@gmail.com and we will take it down. You can withdraw your consent to a photo being published at any time.
9. Contact us
For any privacy question or request, contact our Information Officer, the owner of Khaya Perfect Studios, on 078 191 4251 (call or WhatsApp) or at kages.mp@gmail.com.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated. See also our Terms of use.
